History

Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 170 (“District”) was created pursuant to an Order Dividing District and Redefining Boundaries, adopted by Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 101, as authorized by House Bill 1055, 85th Session of the Texas Legislature, Regular Session. The District operates under Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code, Article XVI, Section 59 and Article III, Section 52 of the Texas Constitution. The District lies within Montgomery County and Willis County, Texas, and the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Conroe.

The District is part of a master district system serving the Chamber Creek Community, which is comprised of a total of six municipal utility districts. The District is the “Master District” and constructs, finances, operates and maintains regional water, sewer and drainage facilities to serve the other “Internal Districts,” being Montgomery County Municipal Utility District Nos. 100 and 101. Currently, Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 100 is the only actively developing Internal District.
